Lunar Volatile Abundance and Meteoritics

The abundance of volatile elements found in lunar samples and meteorites offers valuable clues regarding the igneous evolution of the parent body. This study investigates the application of Raman spectroscopy in assessing the abundance of halogen content in lunar and Martian apatite as a petrogenic tracer for magma aluminosity or differentiation. Additionally, we document the presence of a previously unrecognized Cl-bearing apatite discovered in lunar high-Ti basalts.
